I've noted tangible improvement in outlook, outcomes and approach to my life in all categories - with better coping skills, healthier boundaries, more constructive positive actions for improving health and life outcomes, healthier focus on what’s going well across my life and ways to build on that and improved ways to process or progress areas which may not yet be optimal.
.....it was a really constructive and accessible experience throughout. I liked the way we adjusted the language of the framework in some of the sessions in really difficult weeks, to still focus on coping and constructive things -whilst also not aiming to deny the negative, as that wouldn't have felt authentic. I also liked how the theory framework of our sessions was made specific to apply to my individual context and circumstances each week and the simple and repeated structure of the sessions, enables me to take away and practice the techniques after the course of sessions.

Going into this, I didn’t really know what to expect, but it was an opportunity that came along just when I was starting to dip again with my mental health and anxieties.

I had already experienced 12 sessions of counselling the preceding 12 months, but unfortunately everything I felt I gained fell to the way side due to life events that really weren’t in my control.
Working with Tracy, allowed me to find that positive mind set again. Give me the tools to focus and look for the positive in even the down situations to help me onwards towards forwards with intention.

The relative nature of the sessions really appealed to my neurodiversity as I always knew what was going to happen and in what order. The structure is nice and easy to follow which makes engaging in it easier.  The nature of the sessions meant that it was solution focused and building on the here and now. Accepting the past and acknowledging it, but not allowing it to control me and be the focus of what we were trying to achieve .

Week in week I found I was moving up my scale, with a few bumps, but life of course not linear… and week on week my list positive actions and wins grew and grew.

I could spend more and more time in the logical part of my brain to let me cope with life’s hurdles and deal with my worries and fears, not only helping me, but also my family who quickly saw a happier mummy who was calmer and better able to deal with the jumps in the road.

A side spin from this too has been using some of the metaphors in my day to day practice as a doctor who come with mental health worries and my own personal experience has improved my dealing with these patients and stopped me taking on their problems as my own, and the analogies have helped me smooth out my explanations to patients dealing with mental health issues and made me an even better clinician.

I allowed myself to relax during the sessions, which is hard for me. I got an understanding of why some things that are relatively small, seem to be very stressful at certain times in my life, and how to cope with them. I also used the track at times when I needed to either fall asleep or also as a meditation.

I think that I have achieved an understanding of how to not get overwhelmed by stress. Also an understanding of emptying my ‘stress bucket’ by letting things go that I have no control over. The understanding of the power of positive interactions with friends and activities. I will continue to listen to the recording to maintain what I have achieved by going to Tracy.

Wow - what can I say? - I never thought I would be able to stop smoking cigarettes and after just one session with Tracy, it's happened!

The whole process was thoroughly professional, caring and it is clear that Tracy really knows what she is doing. Her guidance through the session was calm, caring, considerate of my needs and I felt that she really took the time to understand my smoking history. She also explained how it would work very well - and even gave me some information about nicotine that I had never heard before - i.e. it's not the nicotine that's addictive, it's the dopamine hit - who knew?

Thank you, Tracy for helping me to quit cigarettes - I never thought it would be possible - very satisfied client! :-)
